Cirque du soleil production 2019 New Cirque show in collaboration with soccer star Lionel Messi. We were commissioned to create a luminous blue stage floor that would react differently to various stage lighting scenarios. The show takes place in what feels like a kind futuristic high tech world, in a way similar to Tron films. The client wanted the stage to glow blue under certain lights, for it to disappear to nearly nothing under other lights, in other scenes it would be more desirable to have the stripes have a lot of contrast, other scenes for them to not be seen at all. In order to achieve this we created custom paint recipes using highly specialized pigments to achieve these desired results. The final product was a stage floor finish that is very durable and able to stand up to repeated daily performances while achieving the stunning visuals that Cirque du Soleil is known for.We also painted acrobatic equipment for some of the performances.
