Sash window restorations for historic manor in Westmount Quebec.
For this project we completely disassembled, refurbished and reassembled the entire window system on several sash windows. Installed new sash cords, new bronze pulley wheels, new bronze sash locks and pull handles. We stripped all paint coatings from the woodwork with infrared paint strippers. Alot of the woodwork on this house was very rotted and decayed. We repaired damaged wood work where ever possible, and when it was not possible had custom recreations made which we would then install. After all of the repairs we then applied new linseed oil glazing and finished with linseed oil paint. A technique which is true to the original construction techniques of the victorian era. Linseed oil paints last for much longer than modern paints and are 100% environmentally friendly.
