Hamilton Park Jersey City

ull restoration of Victorian era entryway vestibule in a classic brownstone in the historic district of Hamilton Park in Jersey City, New Jersey. The initial project scope was to quickly strip and re-paint the doors, trim and wainscotting. However, not long after the project began it was discovered that the wood was walnut and in reasonably good condition underneath the all the layers of paint. This was with the exception of the interior side of the entry which had been completely charred in a fire in the mid 1970's. We were able to restore most of the exterior and the vestibule, the interior was stripped completely and resurfaced, all new reproductions of the original walnut trim and mouldings were created and installed to match. Modern upgrades included new door closers, insulated glass and modern weather stripping to increase energy efficiency and functionality.
