Restoration of exterior doors and door frames.
Many antique doors in Montreal are so old, and so many have previous repairs that they are actually covered with a thick faux finish. This was often varnished with a shellac based varnish which overtime becomes brittle and cracks. For this project the client decided that they liked the aged and repaired look of the wood after we had stripped the faux finish. For the finishing we stained and applied a clear matte finish lacquer.
As we often do with projects of this nature we also installed new weather stripping.
